Greene County and Paton-Churdan’s Homecoming Week ends tonight with a formal dance.
Greene County Student Council President Melanie Doran says they made changes to the dance, which has traditionally been held in the high school parking lot immediately following the football game on Friday night. “This year I brought up the idea of actually planning a formal one, and being able to dress up, and have music, and food, and all that stuff. It’s been a lot of planning and a lot of work to try and figure out all of the details. We’re pushing it for people to attend so hopefully it’ll be a good turnout.”
Friday the homecoming king and queen were announced. The king was Trey Hinote and queen was Samantha Behne. Another highlight this week was the jersey auction on Wednesday night. Cheerleader Coach Shannon Black tells Raccoon Valley Radio they raised $3,000 for their main fundraiser of the year.
The dance will be from 8 to 11pm at the Jefferson Elks Lodge. Cost is $5 per student. To see photos from the homecoming parade, check out our Facebook page.
