Residents across the state are encouraged to be active today as part of the Healthiest State Initiative. Guthrie, Adair and the other 97 counties are participating in the annual walk with the goal of making Iowa the healthiest state in the nation. The Adair and Guthrie County Medical Clinics are partnering to host a healthiest state walk in Stuart, in which community members are invited to join in for the 15 minute walk.

Adair County Health System Marketing Coordinator Tiffany Johnson shares the purpose of the event, “It’s kind of to bring awareness to getting up and moving and being a healthy state and just when we get busy working and we sit all day sometimes just getting up and even walking for those 15 minutes you’d be amazed at how refreshing that can make you feel.”

The walk starts at noon at Los Altos in Stuart. There are other healthiest state walks taking place in Guthrie Center and Panora. For more information click here.
