Perry City Council 8-6

The Perry City Council will convene Monday evening in regular session.

The first action items on the agenda are a pay request and certificate of completion for the Wiese Park trail improvements. The pay request is for $18,067.35 to Landals Concrete for work completed through September 24th. With the final acceptance and certificate of completion, the project is finished, coming in at a total of $42,555. Other items in old business include: a change order for $1,619.62 for the Willis Avenue Bridge project; release of retainage with ACCUJET for the sanitary sewer cleaning; and a final quality adjustment change order, pay request for $670.32 to EJM Pipe Service, and certificate of completion for the sanitary sewer improvement project.

In new business, the Council will consider two agreements with the Iowa Department of Transportation regarding grants for the airport improvement project. The grants will help pay for a new hangar as well as an apron for it. Also related to the DOT, the Council will support the plan to convert Highway 144/1st Street from four-lanes to three. Other items in new business include: a resolution approving Minburn Communications installing a fiber optic cable drop at the airport; discussion regarding the seasonal use of an alley as a pedestrian courtyard; setting date and time for the annual Safety and Employee Appreciation Day; and creating the free residential dumpster sharing program.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Clarion Room at Perry City Hall.
