It’s homecoming week for the Greene County School District. Home volleyball on Thursday and the homecoming football game Friday highlight the week of varsity sports for the Rams.
Before being at home later in the week, Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Greene County volleyball Rams travel to Story City tomorrow for a Tuesday night Heart of Iowa Activities Conference match with Roland-Story. The Rams are 6-15 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country girls and boys will also be in action tomorrow. The Rams travel northwest to for the South Central Calhoun Invitational at the golf course in Lake City. Next Monday, Oct. 8, the Rams host the HOAIC Coed Meet at Spring Lake State Park northwest of Grand Junction.
Volleyball is home with Nevada on Thursday in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Thursday’s match is the final one in conference play for the Rams, although they will still have non-conference playing dates on the schedule extending into next week.
Friday night’s homecoming football game features the 5-1 Greene County Rams hosting the 2-4 Atlantic Trojans from Linduska Field in Jefferson. Game time is 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
