There are a few upcoming youth programs at the children’s department of the Jefferson Public Library.

Just for Babies Lapsit Story Time and Ready Readers Story Time both take place every Wednesday in October starting at 10am. The Just for Babies program runs until 10:30, with a social time until 11:30am. It is for newborns to 23-months. The program emphasizes parental involvement with movement, rhymes and songs. Ready Readers are for kids two to six-years-old. The story time runs until 11, with the family social time until 11:30. The library says the programs help develop early literacy skills for younger kids.

Another program the children’s department offers is the Homeschoolers Literature program. The free, hourly program is for homeschooled kids, and is held every first and third Thursday from October through May from 10 to 11am in the basement of the library.

All three programs are free and no registration is necessary.
