The Greene County cross-country runners are in the Leon Fox Perry Invitational today at the Perry Golf & Country Club.
Sophomore Conner Allender and junior Kassie Lamoureux have been leading the Rams on the girls’ side with Allender setting the pace for Greene County the last couple of meets. She tells us what her mindset lately has been. “I don’t really know how. It just kind of happened. Our saying this year has been ‘Give nothing less than your best or sacrifice the gift’ and I usually use that as my mindset, and that helps.”
The Perry meet is a big one with middle school and high school girls and boys races. The varsity boys’ race is set for 5 p.m. with the girls’ race to follow.
Both Greene County teams have shown improvement from the beginning of the season. Jeff Lamoureux is the head coach and Pat Gearhart is the assistant.
