The Perry Area Democrats recently began renting out a space in downtown Perry to serve as their headquarters through Election Day, and Wednesday afternoon they held a grand opening open house to reveal the facility to the public.
Many of the Democratic candidates in Dallas County made an appearance during the three-hour event held at 1220 Willis Avenue, most bringing some extra yard signs for attendees to take with them. Perry Democratic Chairperson Monica Peitz said the office will be open now through November 6th, with their hours being Tuesdays through Thursdays from 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. They will also be open for most of Election Day, though Peitz was unsure at this time the exact hours. She says people can stop by to get information, yard signs, and sign up to volunteer.
The candidates in attendance were appreciative of the opportunity the open house provided them to chat with members of the Perry community, and they hope people will take advantage of the party offices. Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to Peitz at 515-465-9882.
