The Perry Fine Arts Committee is back offering some free music in October, and they invite the community to attend a concert featuring a local favorite.
The Al Welsh Orchestra is a frequent visitor to Perry, and even includes a pair of local musicians. They will be bringing their big band-era sound to the City in mid-October, featuring music from several decades and many different composers. Fine Arts Committee member Cathy Clark says the Orchestra has been around since the 1950’s, and they’re always a big hit with audiences. “Lots of people know them, and they always have a good turnout and a good performance for us to enjoy. I would imagine you could even dance in the aisles if you really wanted to! So please come on October the 14th at 2 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at the high school. We’d love to have you, so please come do that!”
All Perry Fine Arts concerts are free and open to the public, though free-will donations are always accepted. Any proceeds go towards future concerts. Clark also reminds people that the Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible, so there’s nothing to stop anyone from attending.
