Their first loss of the season dropped the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers multiple spots in the latest Football Ratings Percentage Index put out by the Iowa High School Athletic Association Monday afternoon. The Tigers fell seven spots this week to No. 12 out of 54 Class 3A teams in the state of Iowa with a RPI rating of .6253. The IHSAA’s new playoff formula takes into account three factors: a team’s overall record, the overall record of their opponents, and the overall record of their opponents-opponents. The nine district champions will earn automatic spots into this year’s playoff bracket with the final seven bids decided by the RPI. ADM is currently third overall in the RPI among the teams from Class 3A District 9. The Lewis Central Titans enter the week third in the RPI at .6995. The Harlan Cyclones, who topped ADM 28-10 last Friday in Adel, sits 10th overall at .6599. Other Class 3A District 9 teams placement in the RPI rankings include Glenwood 23rd (.5747), Winterset 31st (.5296), and Creston 41st (.4571).

The Class 1A RPI rankings have multiple Raccoon Valley Radio Network area teams rated in the top 40. The defending champion Van Meter Bulldogs sit second overall at .6704. The Woodward-Granger Hawks rank 16th overall at .5772. The Panorama Panthers are rated 22nd this week at .5236. Other RVR area schools ranked include the Ogden Bulldogs 26th (.5198), the Woodward Academy Knights 33rd (.4617), and West Central Valley Wildcats 40th (.4086). The Iowa High School Athletic Association will update their RPI rankings every Monday throughout the rest of the regular season.
