The Perry volleyball team took on a solid Carroll team along with cancer Tuesday night at the Sports Pavilion. Designated as the Dig a Cure for Cancer evening, Perry broke away from their usual blue jerseys and went with the color of pink which represents breast cancer awareness. Proceeds from the evening along with fundraisers throughout the week will benefit the Dallas County Relay for Life. Each Perry player created a poster honoring and remembering a loved one who is battling cancer or has lost their battle with the deadly disease.
Carroll defeated the Jayettes in straight sets 25-16, 25-11 and 25-14. Kacy Nevitt led the way with eight kills and an impressive nine ace serves on 12-13 serving. Jasmine Shriver added four kills on seven of seven serving. Quinn Whiton led the team with 11 assists and 6 digs.
