The Jefferson Public Library Children’s Department is putting on a special event for youngsters to drop-off their favorite stuffed teddy bears.

A Teddy Bear Sleepover is planned for this weekend at the library. Youth are to drop off their stuffed teddy bears to the children’s department before 1pm Saturday for an all weekend sleepover and kids can then pick them up on Monday from 1 to 8pm. Library staff will take pictures of the different activities that the bears will be doing including games and watching movies. Plus, kids can also bring another favorite stuffed animal in case their teddy bear is nervous about sleeping over alone.

Pictures of the adventures will be given to the kids to keep. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark encourages any new kids to sign up for their library cards during September’s National Library Card Sign Up Month while they’re in the library dropping off their teddy bears as well.
