Springbrook State Park will be participating in a state-wide effort to give back to area parks. The park will be hosting a Volunteer Day program next Saturday in conjunction with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The event will begin at 1:30pm and volunteers will be working in newly established pollinator plots, making and planting seed balls, and installing nesting structures for native pollinators. Park staff ask that volunteers bring gloves, water bottles, and small shovels. After the work, there will be a little fun with the Western Iowa Folk Jam session at the Campground Gazebo at 4pm.
More than 40 parks across the state will be hosting a volunteer program for the second annual event. The DNR hopes at least 1,000 volunteers will participate this year. For a complete list of participating parks and their events, click on the link below:
