The pool season has come to a close in Jefferson.
Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says now that the pool is closed, work will be done to improve the overall quality. She points out that last year, there was an issue with parts of the floor of the pool which had pitted, where paint chipped off causing people with sensitive skin to cut their feet and bleed.
Lautner was in contact with ACCO, who was the contractor that had painted the pool prior to the start of the pool season last year. She adds that ACCO last did some work before the start of the pool season this year to get them through the summer months.
“They’ve pretty much stripped the paint off the pool. I did not get any complaints about the feet being cut up or anything like that. We did have pool shoes down there if people wanted them. So I think the season went really smooth for the condition the pool was in.”
Lautner says ACCO has agreed to repaint the pool prior to the start of next year’s pool season at no charge.
