Friday, September 7th

1150am: An officer assisted a Greene County Deputy with a Court Committal at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center.

12:52pm: Lareen Fagg reported a theft of medication. An officer is investigating.

7:04pm: An officer located several traffic cones knocked down in the 1800 block of North Elm Street.

7:39pm: Officers responded to Casa De Oro (1409 North Elm Street) after receiving a report of a male who refused to leave. Officers spoke with the suspect, Chris Laurent, who was banned from the property.

8:10pm: David Schrunk reported several traffic cones ran over in the 700 block of North Elm Street.

9:19pm: Beth Laurent reported a verbal dispute between her and her husband, Chris Laurent, at Russell Park.

9:53pM: Officers responded to the intersection of North Elm Street and 220th Street for a traffic accident. Robert Van Horn was driving westbound on 220th Street in a 2016 Chevy Traverse and came to a stop at the 4 way intersection. Jade Spaulding was traveling northbound on North Elm Street in a 2011 Ford Taurus and also came to a stop at the intersection. Both vehicles proceeded through the intersection at the same time. The Traverse struck the Taurus in the in the passenger side doors, causing $10,000 in damages to the Taurus and $3,000 in damages to the Traverse. Jade Spaulding of Jefferson was issued a citation for Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right.

11:09pm: Cindy Adamson reported an open door at the Jefferson Golf Course (501 West Greenewood Road).

Saturday, September 8th

12:15am: Officers responded to the High School parking lot (101 Ram Drive) for a report of high school kids being loud.

12:59am: An officer located an open door at 1108 North Elm Street.

7:21am: Officers responded to Russell Park for a report of a male and female arguing. Officers spoke with Beth and Chris Laurent who were arguing with each other. They were instructed to stop being disorderly.

8:44am: An officer responded to 600 East Lincoln Way for a report of Beth and Chris Laurent having a verbal argument.

9:35am: Officers responded to 501 South Wilson Avenue for a report of Beth and Chris Laurent having a verbal argument.

2:14pm: Linda Nichole reported a theft of a cell phone. An officer is investigating.

4:44pm: Jamie Theulen reported a male walking on Highway 30 next to the roadway.

4:17pm: Chris Laurent stopped at the Law Enforcement Center and asked to speak with an officer. After being asked what he needed help with, he turned and walked out of the building.

10:00pm: Officers responded to the Wild Rose Casino parking lot (777 Wild Rose Lane) for a report of a child left in a vehicle. The child was found to be a 14 year old male and he was okay.

11:50pm: An officer responded to North Olive and East State Street for a dog running loose.

11:58pm: Tyler Wathen of Jefferson was issued a Parking Violation in the 700 block of South Oak Street for Parked Across Sidewalk.

Sunday, September 9th

1:26am: An officer responded to the Sparky’s parking lot (606 Highway 30 East) for a traffic accident. Jose Vargas of Houston, Texas was parked in front of Sparky’s in a 2017 Chevy van. As he was backing out to leave, he struck a 2003 Ford F-150 towing a trailer that was parked at the gas pumps that was being operated by Sterling Sorensen of Portsmounth, Iowa. The van caused $1000 to the passenger side of the truck and trailer. The van also sustained $1,000 in damages.

4:05am: Jackie McAndrews of Jefferson was issued a Parking Violation for Truck / RV/Trailer Parking in the 700 block of West Monroe Street.

8:20am: An officer responded to the 100 block of North Cedar Street for a hit and run accident. The officer found a 1997 Ford Expedition owned by Tickcha Jaimes of Jefferson that was legally parked on the west side of the road in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. A 2005 Buick Lacrosse struck the rear on of the Expedition while traveling southbound on North Cedar Street, causing $3,000 in damages to the rear end. Witnesses on scene advised the vehicle took off and left the scene after hitting the car. After being provided a description of the vehicle, officers were able to locate the vehicle in the Wild Rose Casino parking lot (777 Wild Rose Lane). The officer located the driver inside of the casino that was later identified as Tianna Diekman of Des Moines. Tianna advised the officer she could not see out of her windshield because of the morning dew. She advised when she struck the vehicle, she became scared and drove off. Tianna was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control, Reporting Accidents, Fail to Have a Valid Driver’s License and Failure to Provide Proof of Security Against Liability – Accident Related.

10:17am: An officer located a tool box at the intersection of West Lincoln Way and Elm Street.

12:09pm: An officer responded to 606 West Washington Street for a verbal dispute between an mother and her son regarding a Playstation.

12:17pm: An officer responded to 408 West Greenewood Road for a backing accident. Amber Godwin advised a female backed up and struck her 2014 Ford Fusion that was legally parked on the side of the road. Dorothy Taylor was the one operating her 2008 Ford Taurus and backed up and struck the Fusion. Dorothy was issued a citation for Unsafe Backing on Highway.

12:38pm: As a result of a traffic stop at in the 600 block of South Olive Street, Jamie Alvarado of Grand Junction was issued a citation for Driving While License Suspended.

3:52pm: An officer responded to the 600 block of West Lincoln Way for a parking violation.

5:55pm: An officer responded to Sparky’s (606 Highway 30 East) for a report of a diesel drive off valued at $310. An officer is investigating.

7:56pm: Brenda Kennedy was placed under arrested at Sparky’s (606 Highway 30 East) for an active Greene County Arrest Warrant for Theft – 5th Degree.

10:40pm: As a result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Lincoln Way, Jasmine Fox of Churdan was issued a citation for Defective Muffler System.

11:39pm: Officers assisted Greene County EMS with a medical call in the 700 block of Wild Rose Lane.

11:54pm: Officers responded to 203 South Olive Street for a report of Domestic Violence between a male and a female. After officers completed their initial investigation, Amanda Goodpaster (30) of Jefferson was placed under arrest for Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury – 1st Offense.

***** Arrest Warrants have been requested for Robert Kovar (33) of Jefferson for 2 counts of Trespassing – Simple Misdemeanor, and Theft – 5th Degree. This stemmed from a report given on August 20th, 2018, of Robert walking onto the property in the 900 block of East Lincoln Way and stealing car batteries out of junk vehicles. On this same day, it was reported that Robert was stealing electricity from the residence at 307 East McKinley Street after running a drop cord to their residence to power his own residence.
