The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
County Engineer Josh Sebern informed the Board that his department has received two grants from the Iowa Department of Transportation for Integrated Roadside Vegetative Management (IRVM). The grants total $39,000 and Sebern says he is working on his budget to utilize the grant at the right time. Sebern also said the traffic study at Lake Panorama will continue through the end of the month and that all construction and concrete patching projects are delayed due to the rain.
The Board also discussed tomorrow’s meeting with Guthrie County Transfer Station Executive Director Jotham Arber to discuss forming 28E agreements with surrounding counties for station services. No formal action was taken following the discussion. Other action items the Board approved included: the 2018 Adair and Guthrie Counties Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, a zone compliancy letter, three County held tax certificate sales at Diamondhead Lake for $3,045, and Transfer Station job descriptions.
The Board also approved specifications for concrete slabs to support the new monuments at the veterans memorial on the courthouse grounds.
