Registration for the 14th annual Dallas County Hospital Foundation Golf Outing is open, and people are invited to tee off for a good cause.
The event will be held on Friday, September 14th at the Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Teams of four are asked to register by Monday, September 10th, which can be done at the hospital in Perry. Cost to participate varies, depending on if people are sponsoring the event or if they just want to play. Foundation Manager Matt Crooks says the Golf Outing is a little different than their other fundraising efforts, because the proceeds don’t go toward their scholarship fund. “This event helps the Foundation assist the hospital needs, such as: any type of equipment that we might need; patient education; employee education; or items that weren’t budgeted from the prior year. So like, let’s say that we needed a new piece of equipment, like another sleep study kit. And they really needed it, but it wasn’t budgeted for, then money raised from the golf outing could help support that as well.”
Crooks says on average they have around 15 teams of four participating in the tournament, and throughout the day there are also individual competitions and prize drawings. He adds, the Foundation sees the Golf Outing as a good way for people to get to know and make connections with others in the County.
