The 2018-2019 school year may have just begun, but the new superintendent at West Central Valley Community Schools is already feeling at home. Lance Ridgely is certainly settling in at WCV.
Though he took a slight detour to get here, Ridgely is excited to be back walking down the halls of a school building.
“After eleven years I thought I needed to do something different. So for two years I worked in education but not in schools directly. I kind of went into schools and worked with them and then left. I figured out after about eighteen months of doing that, that I missed the kids. I missed the connection that you had to kids. I also missed the connection you had to teachers. So really that’s what brought me back into the more administrative roles.”
Ridgely says he’s inspired by the overall positive energy the kids bring into the school building. To hear more from Ridgely, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
