Tonight marks the first time fans of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity volleyball can see the squad at home. The annual ADM Volleyball Invite takes place at both the north and south gymnasium in Adel. ADM head volleyball coach Mary Beth Scott explained to Raccoon Valley Radio that the event is a round robin tournament with all six teams playing each other once. The team with the best overall record after the night will be crowned the tournament champion. Scott is familiar with a lot of the teams the Tigers will face on the hardwood tonight. “We’ve seen quite a few of the teams over the summer,” Scott said, “In fact, we just played (the) Gilbert (Tigers) and went three games with them (at the DCG Volleyball tournament) so that’ll be a tough match. I expect Norwalk to be good, Woodward-Granger’s always good, Nevada’s strong. There’s no easy teams.”
The Perry Jayettes are also coming to Adel for the annual ADM volleyball Invitational. The Tigers are the returning champions from last season, winning four of their five matches. ADM brings a 2-3 overall record into the tournament, falling in their latest match against the Creston Panthers in four sets (21-25, 13-25, 27-25, 23-25). First matches of the ADM Volleyball Invite begin at 4:30 p.m. from ADM Community Schools.
