The Greene County Supervisors met briefly Monday in regular session.
During open forum, the Board discussed a meeting with the Greene County School District that happened last week. The meeting was to discuss the commitment from the Supervisors of a $5 million contribution toward the career academy portion of the school project. One of the discussion items was having an eventual 28E agreement that if the building discontinues to be used as a career academy, the school district would reimburse the County the remaining amount of depreciation on the building.
The Board also heard an update on the North Raccoon River Watershed Management from County Environmental Health Administrator Chuck Wenthold. He said at the most recent meeting, they approved the City of Adel and Palo Alto County for membership. They also approved EOR, RDG and WHKS Engineering for the watershed and engineering plans.
Greene County Regional Coordinator for Disability Services Ellen Ritter then spoke to the Board. She said in light of Tracie Perez resigning as County Veterans Affairs Commissioner and General Assistance Coordinator, she would fill in as General Assistance Coordinator for the interim period and possibly take on the responsibilities on a permanent basis. The Board agreed with the interim decision and will make the permanent decision at a future meeting.
