A new season of West Central Valley Cross Country began last Thursday in Gowrie. The Wildcats opened the 2018 competition season running in the Southeast Valley Invitational. West Central Valley had four total runners take home medals for placing in the top 15 individually at the meet. The Wildcat girls cross country crew didn’t have enough runners to register a team score. However, two West Central Valley girls runners placed in the top 13 of the individual race standings including Emily Escoto in 11th place (24:22) and Aliyah Dickson in 13th place (24:42). The West Central Valley boys cross country team took sixth place out of 10 teams with a total score of 119. Louden Foster finished the race as the runner-up medalist with a time of 17:57. The time was nearly a full minute behind South Central Calhoun’s Spencer Moon for meet medalist honors (16:58).
