A Dallas County farmer was recently named one of 19 members of the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA), who were recipients of a 2018 Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Award.
Thomas J. Vincent of Perry was recognized at a ceremony held at the Iowa State Fair for his commitment to water quality and soil health. The awards were given as a joint recognition from the Iowa Governor’s Office, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Vincent and the other recipients were selected because they demonstrated excellent voluntary efforts to improve the water quality in Iowa through various conservation techniques.
All total, 95 Iowa farm families were chosen to receive awards, including Vincent and the 19 ICGA members, by a selection committee that represents both agricultural and conservation groups.
