Progress is moving along on the Highway 169 paving project between Ogden and Highway 141. While the highway itself will remain closed, various intersections with it will begin opening through the weekend.

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, paving was completed earlier this week up to the Dallas and Boone County line at the intersection of 340th Street, or 120th Place. Crews were able to make it up to 330th Street in Boone County, and they’re expected to progress as far as 310th Street before today is over. The contractor then expects to work Saturday, since weather prevented them from working on Monday, and they will be aiming to pave up to 300th Street.

The 340th intersection is open to crossing traffic as of today, and 330th is expected to be open tomorrow. Traffic should then be able to cross on 320th later into Saturday, and 310th will be crossable by Monday. Local traffic on 169 will be able to access residences along the shoulder as the intersections are opened. The DOT emphasizes that construction progress is dependent on dry weather, so they will be delayed if there’s any rain. They also expect paving to progress faster as they move north, as workers won’t have to haul concrete as far.
