A couple from Kent, Washington was arrested in Perry Wednesday afternoon after a domestic dispute turned violent.
At 2:43 p.m., Perry Police Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of William Street on reports of a physical altercation. According to the police report, 35-year-old David Ross Walt arrived at the residence to attempt to pick up his 10-year-old daughter. A confrontation ensued, which led to Walt allegedly choking another individual. The officers responding to the scene requested paramedics to aid the victim.
Walt was then arrested on three charges, including: domestic assault – impeding blood or airflow, strangulation resulting in injury, a class D felony; assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor; and trespass with injury – aggravated assault, a serious misdemeanor. Additionally, Walt’s wife and the child’s stepmother Morgan Maureen Walt was arrested on a misdemeanor charge for violation of a no contact order. Both were transported to Dallas County Jail, where David is currently being held on $5,000 bond. He had an initial appearance in court this morning, and will have a preliminary hearing on September 21st.
