Now that the new school year has officially started, the hours at the Jefferson Municipal Pool have changed.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says until further notice, the pool will only be open for lap swim from 11:30am to 1pm during the work week.

“At this time we don’t have enough guards to staff the pool during the week. You might want to stay tuned for that. If we can maybe do a couple of days a week we will, but as of right now we won’t be open past 1 o’clock.”

This Saturday and Sunday the pool will be open to the public from 1 to 8pm, and then it’ll be closed following adult lap swim from 11:30am to 1pm next Monday through Friday. Next Saturday, September 1st, following the lap swim time, there will be the annual Doggie Paddle event at 1pm before the pool officially closes for the season.
