The Gardens Assisted Living in Jefferson invites everyone to an inaugural event this weekend.

They are hosting a Car Show on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Director Brianne Fister says all vehicles are welcome to register and there’s no cost to participate. The public will get to choose their favorite vehicle and the winner will receive a gift basket filled with donated items from area businesses and organizations. Fister says this is the first time they’ve hosted an event like this. She points out the event was inspired by some of the tenants, due to some of them not being able to attend similar events around the community and asking about hosting their own car show.

Attendees can enjoy a meal of sloppy joes, with chips, coleslaw and a drink for $5. The meal will be served from 11am to 1pm. You can also bring your lawn chair to stay and look at all of the vehicles. Tours of the facility will also be available during the event. No pre-registration is necessary and check-ins will take place at 8am on Saturday.
