guthrie county arts councilThe Guthrie County Arts Council (GCAC) was recently awarded a statewide grant. The organization received a $5,000 Capacity Building Grant from the Iowa Arts Council (IAC).

The grant provides general operating support to arts and cultural organizations, with annual revenue less than $150,000, that demonstrate an exemplary record of cultural and managerial excellence, as well as consistent community service. The grant will help fund consulting expenses for the organization’s long-term marketing efforts. Out of 330 applications, GCAC was one of just over 200 statewide projects to receive a portion of a combined $2 million from the IAC and the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.

In an official release, GCAC President Lynsi Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she hopes working with marketing professionals will, “strengthen the organization’s reach and effectiveness.” A request for proposals from freelance graphic designers and marketers within Guthrie County is open until September 1st. Proposals can be submitted to the Council by email at guthriecountyartscouncil@gmail.com.
