Pep Rally on the Square for Greene County Fall Sports athletes and coaches was held last night on the Bell Tower Plaza in Jefferson. Greene County Activities Booster Club hosted the event and swimmers, cross-country runners, volleyball and football players, cheer squad members, and others were introduced.

Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams open the season tomorrow with a triangular in the middle school gym in Jefferson with Perry and Ft. Dodge St. Edmond. The coach talks about the offense she’d like to have her team run. “I’d like to run a quicker offense, which requires better passing. You can only run a quicker offense if the pass get accurately to the setter, and then she can present a faster pace offense. It all starts with the pass, so we’re really focusing on our passing to get that solid, then also working with our setter to get that set off quicker to our hitters, so the idea is to get the attack in there before the opponent can set up their block.”

Coach Heisterkamp and assistant coaches Patty Fisher and Adriana Vargas are all in their first seasons in their current volleyball coaching positions.
