Vote Dallas County

The Dallas County Democratic Party met for a special nominating convention Monday evening, and their side of the ballot is now full for each of the County government races in the November general election.

First of all, the party nominated Pat Stalter of Adel to enter into the crowded race for the District 3 seat on the Board of Supervisors. She joins incumbent Republican Kim Chapman of Adel and independent candidates Robert Greenway and Michael “Wombat” Walrod, both of DeSoto. Stalter is a retired teacher from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, and currently serves as Pastor of Woodward Christian Church.

Also nominated at the convention were Ryan Morrison of Urbandale, running for County Recorder, and Julie Stewart of Adel, running for County Treasurer. Both candidates will run against Republican incumbents in Recorder Chad Airhart of Waukee and Treasurer Mitch Hambleton of Dallas Center. The additional candidates mean each County race will be contested, as Democrat Breanna Morman of Dawson is running against incumbent Republican Brad Golightly of Perry for the District 1 Supervisor’s seat, and incumbent Democrat Wayne Reisetter of Adel is being opposed by Republican challenger Chuck Sinnard of Urbandale for County Attorney.

Early voting for the general election will open on October 8th, and Election Day will be Tuesday, November 6th.
