Dallas Co Sheriff BadgeDrivers have been identified and a citation was issued from a two-vehicle wreck Monday north of Adel.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded to the crash at the intersection of Prairie Circle and Highway 169 at 5:19pm. According to the crash report, 57-year-old Mary Hill of Carroll was traveling north on the highway and had stopped to turn west onto Prairie Circle. Her 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was then rear-ended by a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by 46-year-old Malissa Bauer of Winterset.

Hill complained of severe neck, head and back pain and was transported to Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services. Bauer suffered minor chest pain from when her airbag deployed and refused medical treatment at the scene. She was later taken by private vehicle to Methodist Medical Center. The impact of the collision caused $10,000 in damage to the Jeep and totaled the Camry. The report shows that both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Bauer was issued a citation for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
