Adair County SheriffA Menlo man is back in the Adair County Jail less than a month after serving jail time for drug possession charges. According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 57-year-old Andrew Dean Nelson was charged with third degree burglary, a Class D Felony, and fourth degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.

According to a press release, Nelson allegedly stole a debit card from a residence in Stuart earlier this month. Nelson proceeded to withdraw $300 from First State Bank in Stuart before returning the card to the residence.

Nelson was sentenced last month to 45 days in jail, with credit for time served, after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent offense. He is currently being held at the jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. His next scheduled hearing is Thursday.
