Iowa State Fair LogoThough she’s known for her dedicated service to the Stuart Public Library, Stuart’s Lacey Partlow took home another honor Wednesday at the Iowa State Fair. Partlow was named Grand Champion of the Fiddler’s Contest. She also received first place in the Age 18-49 class. Over in the food section, Virginia Sheeder of Linden also claimed the top prize in the Youth class of the Beaverdale Confections Chocolate and Candy Sculpture contest. She took home $50 as part of the award.

Menlo’s Kevin Thomas also showcased his facial features once again, receiving 3rd place for Most Unique Beard Design and 2nd place for Most Historic Beard. Greenfield’s Sadie Marnin is also part of a duet that advanced to the semifinals of the Bill Riley Talent Search. She joins Haylea England of Mt. Ayr in a clogging duet. Finally, Stuart’s Valerie Pieper placed 5th in the Class A Division of the Womens State Championship Horseshoe Contest.
