Adair County Health System (ACHS) recently announced that the newest addition to Adair County Memorial Hospital (ACMH) will bear the name of a long-time employee. The building being constructed west of the current facility on Southeast Kent Street will be named after Delores Havens of rural Greenfield.
Havens is the longest-standing employee, having worked there for 51 years, before retiring in 2010. She began her career in 1959 as the Laboratory and Radiology Manager. She retired after helping the hospital achieve digital status in the Radiology Department. Her late husband, John Allen and their family, were long-time supporters of the hospital and continue to support it today.
The Havens Building will be home to the Senior Life Solutions program. It is an outpatient geriatric mental health program that was brought to ACHS in 2016. The new building will allow the program to expand and serve the needs of the community.
