Preseason practice continues this week for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers volleyball team as they prepare for their season opener eight days from today. The Tigers are coming off a 23-12 season last fall but did lose five girls to graduation including four starters. The change in personnel gives ADM head volleyball coach Mary Beth Scott a chance to switch up her formation on the court. “We’re going to run a 6-2 (offense) this year,” Scott said, “Delaney Bertman we wanted to (have her) hit in the front row, so we’re going to have Morgan Meyer also set across the back row.”
Scott tells Raccoon Valley Radio the squad ran a 5-1 offense the previous two seasons. Bertman tallied 555 assists as the Tigers’ primary setter last season. The 2018 competition season for ADM serves next Tuesday as the Tigers compete in the Dallas Center-Grimes Volleyball Invitational.
