An annual event in Jefferson stood up to its name as Hot August Night proved to be another success.

With temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s and sunny skies, about 325 cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors entered the streets around the downtown square in Jefferson. Food was served by the Greene County Chamber and Tourism, Jefferson VFW, American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, and the Jefferson Does. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio was also there broadcasting live and playing music for everyone to enjoy.

Awards were announced at the end of the event. The Spirit Award went to Larry Jewett for his 1938 Dodge Business Coupe. The award for Best Car was Andrew Carlson’s 1962 Chevrolet Belair Wagon. The Best Truck Award was a 1958 Chevrolet Apache owned by Rod and Tiffany McClurg. Tyler Davis won Best Motorcycle with his 2010 Harley Davidson Road King. Larry Thomsen was Best Tractor for his 1949 John Deere Model A. Lastly, the Carroll RPM Club once again won the $200 cash prize as the largest car club participant.
