Over the last two weeks the Stuart Police Department has encountered numerous damaged mailboxes. According to the department, there have also been reports over the same time frame of mail, packages, and items being stolen out of mailboxes and vehicles.

Recently Stuart officers caught the juvenile who allegedly damaged the mailboxes, who will be charged. On Thursday Stuart officers also caught a group of juveniles who admitted to stealing mail and items out of vehicles. The officers were able to recover some of the stolen items and the extent of the charges was not released at this time.
