SPDOn Saturday the Stuart Police Department will be joining other law enforcement agencies across the nation in the “National Night Out” events. The free event is open to the public and will be in Lawbaugh Park from 6-9pm.

The event will include a community BBQ meal, a bounce house, a raffle, and prizes. There will also be a school supply drive and officers will be doing safety demonstrations. The meal will be served from 6-7pm with the activities to follow. Attendees are encouraged to bring a salad or dessert to share.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. This is the 35th year for National Night Out and over 38 million people across the country are expected to participate. Residents are also asked to turn on outside lights and lock their doors as part of the event. Contact the Stuart Police Department with any questions.
