springbrook-state-parkSpringbrook State Park conducts several activities throughout the year. Iowa Department of Natural Resources Training Specialist Anne Riordan is hoping to keep one program going in particular. Riordan talks about the event featuring music in the park earlier this year and how she hopes to bring it back this fall.

“People gathered and played good music. It was basically a jam session. People could play whatever they wanted to play. There were some kids that came from the local school and brought their ukelele and played and sang. Some of the campers came and sang and people would just stop by and listen or join in with singing. So I would like to try to do that again in September. So I’m trying to kind of pull together some people that would be interested.”

Riordan is working with the Western Iowa Folk Group and other organizations to try and make this a recurring program.
