This summer Ethan Lensch took over as ACGC’s newest Activities Director. While it may be difficult for some to transition in a new setting, Lensch is not finding it too hard himself. He partially attributes that to not being the only new face at ACGC this fall. First-year head coaches Cody Matthewson (football) and Trevor Irwin (volleyball) are helping bring a fresh perspective to the Charger athletic programs.
Lensch talks about the transition. “We’re all starting in the same path, just we’re able to kind of build it together. Especially in the fall with new coaches you’re just starting the whole new year so we’re kind of able to lockstep where we want to go together, what our goals are. It’s easier to meet together and not have that lag…There’s a lot more talking.”
Lensch also mentioned the lone returning head coach in cross country’s Colin Shawgo. “With Coach Shawgo not being new, he’s so easy to work with. He’s so good at his job he just is all about what works best for the kids in general.”
Lensch took the reins from outgoing AD Jake Mohling who is now the Principal at Woodward-Granger Middle School.
