Chris Heisterkamp spent some time recently talking volleyball with Raccoon Valley Radio. The Jefferson resident is in her first season as head coach of the Rams after being an assistant coach with former longtime head coach Donna Carhill. Heisterkamp also was a head coach at Southeast Valley (Gowrie).
When asked about the style of play she preferred her team to play, the Coach responded, “I like the quick offense. That could be a goal to work toward. We’ll see. You have to have really good passing in order to run quick offenses, so I suppose it’ll start with that.”
Greene County was 7-27 last season including a 2-5 mark in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Graduated are the only three players to receive all-conference recognition in first teamer Megan Durbin, plus honorable mention selections Chantel Flack and Samantha Hardaway.
Returning letter winners include juniors Sophia Havens, Aubrey Heupel, and Harleigh Weir, plus sophomore Lily Muir. Official practice begins Monday, August 6.
