Dallas Supervisors 5-29

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

Much of the meeting was devoted to a conversation continued from last week’s Human Resources Department workshop, regarding service area 1A of the Iowa Healthcare Coalition. The bulk of the conversation centered around Dallas County being the employer of record for the area coordinator. Nothing was decided at the meeting, but County Attorney Wayne Reisetter will continue reaching out to other counties to gather more information on the issue. The item will be on the agenda each week moving forward, until the Board makes a decision on the matter.

At 9:30 a.m., there was a public hearing concerning a services contract with Cintas for floor mat cleaning services. Per the approved agreement, the County will pay $229.95 every two weeks for the next three years, which also includes chemical treatments at certain facilities. Other items approved included: setting a public hearing for August 14th at 9:30 a.m. to discuss proposed amendments to the floodplain ordinance; a right-of-way purchase agreement for $350 to finish a maintenance project near Adel; a one-year contract with Solutions Software for services and hardware maintenance; and the purchase of a piece of land near Perry currently housing a Sheriff’s Office tower for $7,000.

The Board also discussed but took no action on amending the County’s 28E agreement with the City of Dallas Center for sewer connections. However, they did agree to have a representative attend the next Dallas Center City Council meeting to discuss the matter.
