Of all the assistant coaches on the Adel-Desoto-Minburn high school football staff, only one was a former Tiger student-athlete. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network is continuing to spotlight the assistant coaches on the ADM Tiger varsity football team with Adam Crannell. Crannell, a 2002 graduate of ADM Community Schools, is the head coach of the freshman team and will also work with the varsity defensive backs. ADM first-year head coach Garrison Carter is happy to have Crannell on staff but wishes more alumni were involved in coaching the Tigers football team. “I’m so glad we have one (alumni), I wish we had a couple more,” Carter said, ” I think you have to have a couple of guys (on-staff) that can talk to the kids about the importance of putting on the Tiger uniform and Coach Crannell is that gap for us.”
Crannell played and coached under longtime ADM head football coach Mike Whisner, who retired after the end of last season with an overall record of 130-129. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will spotlight another returning ADM assistant football coach tomorrow in Nolan Gitch.
