The 2017 Perry 4th of July Parade
The 2017 Perry 4th of July Parade

In case you somehow forgot, tomorrow is the annual Perry Fourth of July Celebration, with several activities taking place throughout the day.

The festivities will begin with the parade, with lineup starting at 9 a.m. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there will be several Chamber volunteers helping with the lineup and through the rest of the day’s events. She adds, they will be easily identifiable this year. “We’ve got a new thing with the Chamber volunteers having these green t-shirts that say ‘Chamber’ on them. So whether it’s staff, Board members or Ambassadors, that’s kind of the go-to for any questions throughout the day. And probably most people will be wearing red, white, and blue, but Chamber members will be standing out with the green shirt if there’s any questions.”

The parade will run along Willis Avenue, starting at the East Perry Plaza and finishing at Pattee Park. After that, there will be food, vendors, games, music, and other entertainment in the park for the rest of the day. Specific entries include food provided by the Perry Fire Department, a performance by Showtime Dance and Tumbling Studio, and an evening show by Catfish Charlie. The day will conclude at dusk with the publicly-funded fireworks display, which includes $12,500-worth of fireworks.

Pasutti adds, the Chamber will still accept donations for the show, and the Bucket Brigade will be out throughout the day to raise funds. Additionally, the Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will be at Pattee Park following the parade until 3 p.m. We will broadcast live, play music, and provide public address services.
