The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office arrested two individuals Saturday in Guthrie Center, resulting in felony drug charges.
The first alleged incident happened during a traffic stop in the 100 block of North 4th Street. A deputy pulled over 33-year-old Blue Tyler Petersen of Council Bluffs for driving the wrong way on a one-way street. As a result of the traffic stop, Petersen was arrested when the deputy found just under five grams of meth and various drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The second alleged incident was from a drug bust via Facebook Messenger. The suspect, 31-year-old Whitney Lynn Muhlenburg of Ankeny, unknowingly handed over four grams of meth to a deputy in the Hometown Foods parking lot and was subsequently arrested.
Both suspects were charged with a Class C Felony for possession of methamphetamine. Petersen is being held in the Guthrie County Jail under a $100,000 cash or surety bond, while Muhlenburg is being held in the Dallas County Jail under a $100,000 cash or surety bond, as the Guthrie County Jail is full and can’t currently hold female inmates. Court documents show that Petersen is scheduled to have his preliminary hearing on Thursday and Muhlenburg waived her preliminary hearing and is waiting her next scheduled appearance.
