While most of Adel anxiously awaits this year’s Sweet Corn Festival, the Friends of the Adel Public Library Foundation is ready for their annual book sale.
The sale runs on the days leading up to the festival, as well as the week afterwards, and will be held in the library’s community room. As always, there will be a pre-sale for Friends members on the day before the sale officially starts. This year the pre-sale will be on Thursday, August 9th from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. It’s free for Friends, but those not in the organization can also do some early shopping for $10. The sale is then free to the public on Friday, August 10th from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. August 11th is the Sweet Corn Festival, and though the library itself will be closed that day, the sale will still run from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The sale will then resume from Monday, August 13th through Thursday, August 16th during normal library hours. All proceeds from the book sale will help fund next year’s summer reading program. For more information on this and other upcoming events at the library, visit AdelPL.org.
