Chris Heisterkamp was named Greene County High School head volleyball coach earlier this summer. A one-time assistant under longtime coach Donna Carhill, Heisterkamp inherits a varsity program that went 7-27 last year and that includes a 2-5 record in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference.

The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio what her volleyball coaching background is. “I started out here as the seventh grade coach years ago. Then I moved up to ninth grade and coached with Donna Carhill for four years. I then went to Gowrie and during that time Prairie Valley and Southeast Webster joined together and became Southeast Valley. I was there as head coach for three years, and now I’m back here.”

Heisterkamp and her husband, Tim, raised three children here and all three were student-athletes for the Rams.

Official volleyball practice begins on Monday, August 6.
