The top overall tackler in the state of Iowa last fall is returning to the gridiron for the West Central Valley Wildcats. Cole Sackett recorded 128.5 total tackles as a junior last season for the Wildcats football team. He made 81 solo tackles, 47.5 assisted tackles, 12 solo tackles for loss and five sacks. Sackett’s season high of 17.5 total tackles occurred twice last fall, September 8 against Eagle Grove and September 22 against Mason-Northwest Webster. The first official practice of the 2018 high school football season is next Monday and the opening game for the Wildcats is Friday, August 24 at Des Moines Christian.
