The Gridiron Football Camp is today and tomorrow from 5-8 p.m. each day at Greene County High School in Jefferson. Head Coach Mitch Moore and his coaching staff will be coaching Youth as young as third grade, all the way up to seniors in high school.
The varsity players also help coach the younger players and Coach Moore talks about the interaction between younger and older campers. “There’s no question that’s what brings the camaraderie within the whole program. Those young Youth kids don’t care what Coach Moore, or Coach Morton, or Coach Fett, have to say, but they love to see Trey Hinote coach them, and Colby Kafer, Brent Riley, and the Bryce Hoyle’s of the world! Those young kids really feed off watching the older kids because ultimately, that’s what they want to be. They want to be a Ram football player and as a third grader, that’s who you’re looking up to. It’s kind of neat for both groups because our varsity players like to work with the young guys; it’s fun for them as well.”
Official high school practice begins on Monday, Aug. 6.
