Greene County hosts its Gridiron Football Camp Monday and Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. each day on the high school grounds in Jefferson. The camp is for those entering third grade, all the way up to high school seniors. Camp Director and head football coach Mitch Moore talks about what the younger campers will be involved with. “We’ll start at third grade, and on that level, it’s a lot of skill and drill. We’ll introduce a little bit of what we call our base offense and base defense, but nothing too in depth. We really just want those young kids learning the concepts of catching and blocking, and being able to understand some of our terminology that we’re going to use program wide. We had great success with it last year and think we will this year as well.”
