An incoming senior at West Central Valley Community Schools got recently recognized for his contributions on the baseball field this summer. The 2018 West Central Activities Conference All-Conference teams became public late this week, and Cole Arnburg was among the 11 players selected for the first team squad. Arnburg’s .545 batting average was the best in the conference for any player who had 10 or more plate appearances, recording 54 hits in 99 at-bats. He ranked third in the league in stolen bases, successfully taking 23 bags in 23 attempts. Arnburg also was West Central Valley’s top pitcher, throwing a team-high 51 innings. He posted a 1.37 earned run average and allowed an opponent batting average of .194.

Incoming sophomore Drew Taylor represents the Wildcats on the second team all-conference squad. Taylor led the team in all extra base hit categories, including seven doubles, three triples, and five home runs. Outgoing senior Riley Algreen and incoming sophomore Evan Taylor are the Wildcats honorable mention all-conference selections. The 2018 West Central Valley Wildcats baseball season ended July 10 with a record of 12-15 overall.
