The 2018 Iowa High School State Baseball Tournament wraps up tomorrow at Principal Park in Des Moines, but Greene County concluded a 14-12 season two weeks ago.

Head coach John Hupp talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about what he saw this season and what the offseason is expected to bring. “I think we saw a lot of growth in the first season, so I’m really excited about where we’re headed. Our guys threw a lot in the Spring, even before I got there, so that was good. We need a lot of work on hitting, getting started hitting earlier in the year and getting those swings retooled. I didn’t have a lot of time in the Spring to change a lot of swings. This way we have time to revamp those swings in the offseason and change the whole programs’ approach at the plate.”

On the subject of strength & conditioning, Coach Hupp added, “Coach Moore and I talked about it, but we didn’t get much done last Spring, but we’re going to start that up once school starts, so that will be good to get a whole year of strength & conditioning in for all the baseball guys as well.”
